Terms of Service
Effective 30 April 2026 · Version 1.0
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the
My Mobile Security mobile application and the supporting backend
services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is
owned and operated by The Software Support LLC
(“Company”, “we”, “our”, “us”).
By installing, activating, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these
Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The short version
The app is free to use for one year per activation. We provide three features: an
email breach lookup, a device security audit, and a private DNS profile. We try
hard, but no security tool is perfect — you remain responsible for your own
device and account hygiene. Don’t abuse the service. We can terminate accounts
that do.
1. Eligibility & the activation key
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in jurisdictions that require it) to use
the Service. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement.
The Service is unlocked by an activation key that you obtain
through the in-app activation form. The key is issued free of charge,
valid for one year from the date of issue, and tied to the email address you
supplied. There is no payment, subscription, or auto-renewal. After expiration,
you may obtain a new key.
You may only use one activation key per device installation. Sharing your key with
others defeats our usage analytics and may result in suspension if abused.
2. License to use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive,
non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the App on devices
that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.
You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except where this
restriction is prohibited by applicable law; - Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices;
- Use the App in violation of any law, regulation, or third-party right;
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App or any activation key;
- Use the App to attack, scan, or otherwise interfere with computer systems or
networks you do not have explicit authorization to test.
3. What the Service does (and doesn’t)
The Service offers three features. All three are provided on an
“as-is, best-effort” basis and are intended to complement,
not replace, your overall security practices.
- Email breach scan — checks an email address against the
HaveIBeenPwned breach corpus. - Device security audit — runs a series of local checks
(jailbreak/root, screen lock, OS version, network state, VPN state). - Secure VPN — routes your DNS queries through one of nine
curated DNS profiles via an OpenVPN tunnel to our infrastructure.
The Service is not:
- A general-purpose VPN. It is purpose-built to enforce a DNS profile system-wide
on iOS, where standalone DNS-over-HTTPS profiles are bypassed by Safari,
Chrome, and many other system components. - An antivirus, malware scanner, or threat-removal product. We do not inspect or
modify files on your device. - A guarantee that you will not be hacked, phished, or otherwise compromised.
Security is a layered, ongoing practice; we are one layer.
4. The Secure VPN feature
The Secure VPN feature establishes an OpenVPN tunnel from your device to a server we
operate. The tunnel carries DNS traffic so that the DNS resolver advertised by the
selected profile is enforced for every app on your device.
We commit to the following operational practices for our DNS infrastructure:
- We do not log the individual DNS queries that flow through the tunnel.
- We do not sell or share aggregated DNS query data with third parties.
- We do not inject advertising into your traffic.
- The DNS resolvers we use are the third-party services named in the App
(Cloudflare, Google, Quad9, AdGuard). Their respective privacy policies apply
to queries they receive from our infrastructure.
Some platforms (e.g. iOS) display a persistent “VPN” indicator while the
tunnel is active. This is normal.
5. The breach scan feature
When you run a breach scan, the email you enter is forwarded over HTTPS to the
HaveIBeenPwned service for
lookup. We do not store the email itself; we store a hash of the email and the
count of breaches found, for analytics and rate-limiting purposes only.
The presence (or absence) of an email in the HaveIBeenPwned database is
informational. A clean result does not mean you are safe; a hit
does not mean any specific account is currently compromised. We
provide the lookup; the interpretation and any remedial actions (changing
passwords, enabling 2FA) are yours.
6. The device scan feature
The device security audit runs entirely on your device. It does not transmit the
audit results to our servers. It is a snapshot of the local state at the moment you
run it; conditions may change after the scan completes.
7. Acceptable use
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- Submit email addresses you do not control or have permission to scan;
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, the activation system, or any other access
control; - Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm any person;
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without our written
permission; - Submit content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful;
- Use the Service in connection with any other automated bulk-lookup or scraping
tool.
8. Account, suspension, termination
We may suspend or terminate your activation key at any time, without prior notice,
if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or are abusing the Service.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from
Settings → Account & data → Delete my account. Deletion is
processed immediately on the server.
9. Disclaimers
Read this carefully. The Service is provided
“as is” and “as available”,
without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted
by law, we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a
particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of
dealing or trade usage.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or
that any defects will be corrected. We do not warrant the accuracy or reliability
of any breach data, advice, or audit result. You use the Service at your own risk.
The Service is not designed or intended for use in high-risk activities (e.g. life
support, critical infrastructure, mission-critical financial systems).
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will The Software
Support LLC, its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, suppliers, or licensors
be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or
punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangibles,
arising from or related to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of
the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service
is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months preceding
the claim — which, because the Service is free, is USD 0.
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some
of these limitations may not apply to you. In those jurisdictions our liability is
limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold The Software Support LLC harmless from any claims,
damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising
out of or related to your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or
your violation of any law or third-party right.
12. Third-party services
The Service incorporates third-party components and services, including
HaveIBeenPwned,
Firebase (Google LLC), and
the OpenVPN protocol. Your use of those components is also subject to their
respective terms. We are not responsible for the availability or content of
third-party services.
13. Apple App Store additional terms
If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:
- These Terms are between you and The Software Support LLC, not between you and
Apple. - Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple,
and Apple will refund the App’s purchase price (if any) to you. Apple has
no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App. - Any product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal
requirements, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar
legislation are our responsibility, not Apple’s. - Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may
enforce them against you.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will
bump the version number and effective date at the top of this page and notify you
in-app. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes
acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which The Software
Support LLC is established, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any
dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining
provisions remain in full force and effect.
